About This Work

Moon Calendar_ Berlin 2017 is the first work in my moon calendar series and explores the concept of time through a linear, continuous flow.

Based on time data from each month of the year 2017 in Berlin, the twelve individual installations visualize and sonify the passage of time across the year. Created on transparent PVC sheets with acrylic paint, each piece captures the shifting daylight and the subtle transitions of seasonal colors. The left side of each work illustrates seasonal changes, while the right side uses thick, textured paint to depict the contrast between day and night.

Exhibited in a dark space, the works are illuminated from within, creating the illusion of floating celestial bodies. Viewers are invited to move freely around the pieces, discovering different perspectives depending on the angle. This physical interaction becomes a part of the experience, offering a new way to perceive time through movement and space.

A key element of the installation is its experimental sound, composed from actual time data. Played through speakers or headphones, the audio component allows time to be experienced not only visually, but also acoustically.

Through the interplay of light, color, form, and sound, Moon Calendar_ Berlin 2017 transforms the abstract nature of time into a tangible, multi-sensory experience.
